Thinglink
Thinglink is a technology that allows users to turn an ordinary graphic or picture into an interactive tool. Thinglink allows you to add buttons or links on the graphic. These buttons can contain text, video, or links to different websites. You can take any type of image and add additional information without the graphic becoming cluttered and complicated. This easy to use site is great for allowing students to add additional information onto an image or graphic they have found or created and allow viewers to learn the information at their own pace. Thinglinks can be embedded into a website or blog.
I think this is a really great tool with some aspects that I really like. I really like that even the free version is worthwile, it is very user friendly, it is a great way to make a "boring" photograph interesting and interactive. I can easily see my students using this tool. Also, because you get a link to share your Thinglink, if you need to go back and make changes, they will show up even if you have already shared or embedded the Thinglink on a webite. I also really like that as an educator, I can take control of my student's accounts.
I think the only negative of the free version of Thinglink is the watermark they put in the bottom corner because it can cover up parts of your graphic.
In the other tabs, please view the video tutorial on how to create and use Thinglink. I am one who needs to see it to understand it and if you are like me, be sure to view the Screen Cast of Thinglink Tutorial!
